Here are 5 essential tips for perfect embroidery on a domestic or industrial embroidery machine.

1. Choose the right hoop.

The frame supports the fabric during embroidery, preventing it from stretching or forming wrinkles. Use:

  • Lightweight fabric: heat-seal or water-soluble stabilizer.
  • Mesh or stretch fabric: cuttable stabilizer to prevent deformation.
  • Thicker fabrics: tearable stabilizer may work well.
2. Correct adjustment of thread tension.

Inadequate tension can cause pulling or looping. To test:

  • Do a test embroidery and see if the upper and lower thread are balanced.
  • The bobbin thread should not appear at the top.
  • Adjust the tension according to the type of thread and fabric.
3. Firm fixation of the fabric in the frame.
